At Curious Universe, we thrive on making products that are not only wickedly fun, but also environmentally conscious. Curiously Green is our new initiative, aiming to encourage reuse of our products in a way that will spread the fun and benefit the planet. By reusing, regifting and recycling, we can all help the world become a better place for future generations.

Regift
We adore picture books. Whether you're adventuring with unicorns or getting ready for bed with baby bears, there are so many amazing characters to get to know in our collection. But if you're tired of hearing the same stories over and over, why not bring a smile to another child's face by regifting your old picture books?
There are so many ways you can regift, including:
- Taking your book to a charity shop
- Giving it to a friend or sibling
- Donating it to a charity
- Donating it to a school fair
An example of a charity doing wonderful things with old books is the Children’s Book Project. They have book drop-off points across the country where you can donate your old children’s books, which can then be given to families who don’t have many books of their own. Reuse
From puppets to gift tags, there are so many fun ways you can turn our products into brand new things. Click on the links below to find a whole bunch of upcycling projects that you can print out and do at home. Just make sure to always ask a grown-up for permission before cutting up any of your old books.
Recycle
At Curious Universe we've been busy making our products more environmentally friendly, while also making sure they're still just as fun as ever! Loads of our products have parts that can be recycled and we aim to make sure you can recycle these at home.
Here's a list of parts that can be recycled:
- Paper
- Books
- Cardboard packaging
- Clear plastic packaging
You just have to pop these items into a recycling bin and they can be taken and made into something completely new!

Since 2020, our FSC titles have increased by two thirds and we're aiming to be 100% FSC by 2024. FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) means that the forests are looked after properly to make sure the workers and the environment are both happy.
87% of our trays are now made of PET plastic - almost double the amount from 2020! PET doesn't mean it's for cats or dogs, it's a kind of plastic that can be recycled – so better for the environment. It stands for polyethylene terephthalate, but PET is a lot easier to say!
